Boundaries are healthy and an important part of Self-Care!

Boundaries are circles of empowerment – they define who you are and who you are not. They want to be respected by you and by others. This is how you define your self-worthiness and your self-respect. You have to protect it authentically and unapologetic.

Oprah once stated: ‘You have to be able to set boundaries, otherwise the rest of the world is telling you who you are and what you should be doing.’

So, what are boundaries and how do they serve you?

Boundaries determine the value of yourself and allow self-care.

They articulate your limits.

They determine the value of your personal rights.

They determine the trust of your own decision making.

They prevent you from exceeding your personal resources.

They regulate your availability for others.

They communicate to others what behaviour you will and won’t accept.

They determine your own limits you set for yourself.

They mark where you end and the other person begins.
